Day 1

first steps to tango: first shared lesson 1 hs aprox.

through the narrow streets of the old city and broad avenues
that
mark Buenos Aires’ modern growth. Around Plaza de Mayo (May
Square), you will see the “Casa Rosada”, the rose coloured
presidential residence, the Cathedral and the Cabildo (Town
Hall). On South America’s broadest avenue, “Avenida 9 de
Julio”, we see the Colon Theatre (the South America’s most
important Opera House) and the “Obelisco”.
Tour continues to San Telmo, one of the oldest neighborhoods
in the city. Until 1870 it was inhabited by the wealthiest
families in the city, when Yellow Fever epidemic forced them
to move North. With the passing of time, San Telmo's
appearance changed and it became a sightseeing must' in
which old time's valuable architecture can be appreciated.
If the tour is on Sunday, then we include a stop at San
Telmo Flea Market, the definitive Argentinean weekend market
where you can browse and peruse to your heart's content.
Café Tortoni: This historic cafe has served as the artistic
and intellectual capital of Buenos Aires since 1858, hosting
notable guests such as Jorge Luis Borges.
You will feel, and enjoy the authentic Tango Argentino in
the place of its origin, San Telmo neighborhood, where
accomplished and well-known argentine Tango dancers will
introduce you to the fine art of Tango. Tango lesson will
take 1 hour approximately Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 2
After breakfast visit LA BOCA (The visit includes walking
through Caminito and visiting the famous Quinquela Martin
house)
You will also drive through the colourful roads of La Boca,
famous for its multicolour tin houses. La Boca is the place
where the first immigrants have built their houses, showing
and exciting mix
between Italian and Argentine cultures. A visit the
“Quinquela Martin Museum” will allow participants to learn
more about this local painter’s technique and become an
honoured friend of the Screw Order.

Madero area. In the 1930s, port facilities were relocated to
the Puerto Nuevo ("new port"), 1 km to the north, and most
of the older brick warehouses were all but abandoned. In the
1990s, local and
fore ign capitals invested in a massive gentrification
effort, recycling the west side warehouses into lofts and
restaurants, and adding some new hotels and office
buildings, mostly in the east side. Tour continues to
Palermo, an area that combines its architecture and history
with entertainment and amusement in its green spaces.
Bosques de Palermo ('Palermo Forests'), inspired by the Bois
de Boulogne in Paris, is the largest green lung in the city
of Buenos Aires. With its Rosedal('Rose Garden'), huge
artificial lake and beautifully landscaped promenades,this
is one of the loveliest spots in the city. Palermo Chico
area ("Small" or "Exclusive" Palermo) is the most upmarket
part of Palermo. Many of the wealthy and famous own homes
there as well as numerous embassies. Once a quarter full of
splendid mansions set in broad private parks, many luxury
condominiums and apartment houses are now to be seen.
At last, enjoy La Recoleta, an exclusive and elegant
neighborhood where the famous cemetery is found. The
Cemetery includes graves of some of the mo stinfluential and
important persons of Argentina, including several
presidents, scientists, and wealthy characters.
Internationally, Eva Perón is one of the best known persons
buried in this cemetery. Although it may seem unusual,
fashionable
restaurants, bars, cafes, discos and a cinema complex also
surround the area.
